Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

The company is owned by Lasse Nielsen 30 and me – Martin Heinze 33. We’re from the same town and have been friends for the most of our lives. We started our danish website in January 2014.

What inspired you to launch Rackbuddy?

Danish television showed a program where 4 couples should decorate and renovate all the rooms in a house, that were given to them. One of the couples made a cool wall full of water pipes in their bedroom and used it to hang their clothes. Thats how we got the idea. Today we have managed to have a setup, where we build new stores, coffee bars and restaurants and also sell our clothing racks directly via our webshops in Denmark, Germany and soon England.

How would you describe your dream work space?

My dream work space is in our Showroom in Copenhagen. It is really cool, have the right location and got so much potential. If you ever get to Copenhagen you should come visit us.

What makes your products special, which one is your personal favorite?

Our products are cool and industrial and fits both: the small apartment, but also the big house. Because we cut the pipes ourselves, we can customize a large Walk-in-closet for a small amount of money – that is cool for us and for the customer. My favorite Rack is Rackbuddy Clyde because it was one of the first products we made.

What was the biggest challenge you have had to face so far?

The biggest challenge so far is, that because we only want good quality clothing racks, our Racks are a bit heavy to deliver with the post man. Therefor we had to get specialized boxes in where the pipes and fittings can fit. It was a challenge to get the right boxes, but now we have a cool solution where the customer gets a very nice first impression when they get our clothing rack.

Where do you find most of your inspiration?

We found our inspiration in scandinavian interior design. We hope that Germany will look north and find our interiør interesting. In time we will have more products than just our racks.

What are your next goals?

Our next goals are to make sure that our english website is being done. We’re also in a process where we make wooden tables made of used pallets. This is going to be very cool as well.
