Tell me your homestory | Me Oh My

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m Annette, 28 years of age and currently working as an interior architect. For that I studied at the art academy in Rotterdam. I live together with my boyfriend and love to change things in and around the house.

You are also blogging at Me Oh My. What inspired you to launch your blog?

When I graduated I wasn’t working in the interior industry so I started the blog Me Oh My to keep myself up to date about what was going on in the interior industry. Next to that I wanted a place to express my creativity.

Can you tell us a little bit about your shop?

Besides a place for my own creativity, I also wanted a place for the creativity of others. There are so many people who design beautiful products but have no idea where or how to sell them. In my webshop you can find these products and I’m always curious to find new items.

How would you describe your style?

Ha! I always think that quite a difficult question. I love things simple, clean, black, white and grey but almost always in combination with color but never to flashy. I think modern minimalistic would be a good way to describe it.

Where do you find most or your inspiration?

Most of my inspiration I find in day to day things and I like reading blogs but of course I also love Pinterest and Instagram. Here you’ll find the most lovely pictures even though you know it’s almost always about the ‘pretty picture’. Who doesn’t love a pretty picture, right?!

How would you describe your dream home?

My dream home would be a combination of modern minimalistic meets industrial, old meets new. I have a strong fascination for old, ruinous with a great experiential value. The contrast between those to is fascinating because the inherent qualities of the old and new produce a multi-layered complexity impossible to replicate in a new building.

What is your next project?

I’m very exited about my new project which actually is a collaboration. What it is and with whom is still a little secret but will be announced on my blog soon.
