Tell me your homestory goes International!

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Hello everyone and thanks for having me over your beautiful blog, Lisa. Sure, my name is Agata, I work as a content creator, freelance stylist and run Passion Shake blog, a place where I share bits of my work and ideas for a happy living. On a day to day basis, I focus on doing what I love the most – creating visual stories, through styling, creative projects and photos, and write for a few online magazines.

What inspired you to launch your blog?

Oh it was very spontaneous! I decorated my bedroom wall (with a very cliche, black paper butterflies!) and was so proud of how they turned out, that I wanted to share it with the world. 10 minutes later I had a blogger account and the very blurry photos of the wall, were posted. At that time, I didn’t know anything about blogging world, styling or photography, I didn’t even know what was my personal style – all my inspiration and knowledge came with a willingness to learn and improve my skills. If I think of what inspires me to continue blogging, it’s definitely the incredible community of talented people and sharing how I see the world through my photos and stories. You can also add my social media addiction to the list, can’t help it!

You turned your passion for interior into a full time job. Do you have any tips for those who are thinking about doing the same?

I’ve always been crazy for interiors but I took it to the next level only in the last few years. After 6 years in the corporate world, I couldn’t picture myself doing it for the rest of my life, so I quit (another spontaneous moment!) to see if I could turn my passion into a full time job. Of course, there was a possibility that it wouldn’t work out, but it did, so my best advice is to go for it! If all you can think of, is dedicating your entire self to a passion, then you will do everything to reach your dreams. As they say, what separates the dreams from reality is action, so taking it, is already a very important, if not the most important step! Be prepared to face a lot of difficulties, ups and downs, but don’t give up. Always look back and see how far you’ve come, to keep yourself motivated – it can do wonders.

What was the biggest challenge you have had to face so far?

Trying to make your dreams come true, means a lot of hard work and dedication. The biggest challenge for me has been keeping the balance between work, passion and ‘life’, because it all become the same thing. It’s still hard sometimes, but I slowly get better at managing my time; for example, I took 10 days break during Christmas Holiday!

Where do you find most of your inspiration?

I’m a visual person so I tend to get inspired by pretty things – color combinations I find on the walks with my dog, textures around me, travels, fashion and interior magazines, interesting projects but also work and photography of other creatives and bloggers (here I very much rely on Pinterest and Instagram)

How would you describe your dream work space?

For sure, it would be bigger than the one I have right now! (laugh*) I love my studio space but I often find myself hoping that the walls will expand one day. Apart from the bigger size, it would be filled with natural light, have at least one brick wall and a lot of props. I love to collect everything what can be used in the pictures but I always search for more, so ideally the dream workspace would have a warehouse of beautiful objects.

What is your next project?

Right now, I am working on a couple of articles for the websites I work for, then I have a scheduled product styling shoot with one of the interior brands. But my big next project is to open my little, online shop (fingers crossed it will happen this year xx)
